RemotePeople review: Employer of Record in China
The provider we rank first for China: a global platform that employs through its own Chinese company with a Shanghai regional headquarters and branches in Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing and Guangzhou, publishes a price from US$199 per employee per month, and adds recruitment, payroll for your own WFOE and incorporation. We checked the entity, the service range and the ratings against our eight criteria.
The most complete China offer in our ranking, with a real Chinese company behind it.
RemotePeople has operated in China since 2018 and employs there through its own Chinese company, with a regional headquarters on Yutong Road in Shanghai and branch offices in Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing and Guangzhou. It is the only global platform here whose China footprint goes beyond a single entity: Chinese-speaking HR staff in-country, a named account manager per client, and a service range that runs from recruitment through Employer of Record and contractor of record to payroll for your own WFOE and incorporation when headcount justifies it. Pricing is published, from US$199 per employee per month on the Select tier and US$499 on the Global tier, against US$500 to US$1,000 at the corporate-services firms. Independent ratings are the strongest here: G2 4.7 from 454 reviews, Capterra 4.9, Trustpilot 4.5. The one question to settle in writing is the legal vehicle in your city: whether your hire sits on a direct contract with the Chinese company or on a dispatch arrangement, and how the 10 per cent dispatch cap is managed.
Choose RemotePeople if you want one provider to recruit, employ and later incorporate in China, a published price, and in-country Chinese-speaking HR staff with a named account manager. Look elsewhere if you need a Big Four-style accounting and audit practice alongside employment, or a state-owned dispatch agency for a representative office.
Who actually employs your staff: a Chinese company with a Shanghai headquarters
RemotePeople’s Chinese company carries unified social credit code 91310000MA1GC8625Q, is headquartered in Shanghai (100 Yutong Road) and operates branch offices in Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing and Guangzhou. The group has operated in China since 2018 and is registered with the Ministry of Commerce. Hong Kong and Macau are served separately.
What is not published is a labour dispatch licence number. In China an EOR either employs your staff directly on its own company’s payroll, or dispatches them under a licensed dispatch arrangement subject to the 10 per cent cap and the temporary, auxiliary or substitute test. Ask RemotePeople which applies to your hire and city, and request the licence where dispatch is used.

Recruit, employ, incorporate: one provider across the China journey
RemotePeople covers the sequence most foreign companies follow in China: find the person, employ them without an entity, then set up a WFOE and move staff across. In-house recruiters source and shortlist; the EOR employs on the Chinese company; payroll outsourcing runs your own entity once you have one; incorporation handles WFOE formation, bank accounts and registrations.

Payroll and incorporation
Payroll for your own WFOE from US$25 per employee; WFOE formation, registered address, bank accounts, tax and social insurance registration; managed EOR-to-entity transfer
