Get in touch
Contact us for tailored assistance. If you are working out how to employ someone in China — or whether an arrangement you have been offered is sound — describe the situation and we will point you at what is relevant.

What is useful to include
- How many people, and whether Chinese nationals or foreign hires needing work permits
- The city — social insurance, housing fund and minimum wage all follow it
- Whether you have a Chinese entity or representative office, or none
- Any provider proposal already on the table, particularly how it describes the employing entity and licence
That last point is the one most worth including. The useful thing we can usually tell you is whether a proposal names the entity that will sign the labour contract, or talks around it.
Before you write
| Question | Where it is answered |
|---|---|
| Which providers can employ for us in China, and what do they cost? | Best China EOR providers |
| We have an entity and want payroll or dispatch handled | Best China PEO providers |
| What is FESCO and do we need one? | What is FESCO? |
| What must we pay and what does it really cost? | Employee benefits in China |
| Contracts, probation, termination, work permits | China labour law |
One thing we cannot do
We do not give legal or tax advice, and we cannot tell you whether a specific arrangement is compliant — that depends on documents, the city, and facts a website cannot know. What we can do is tell you which questions to put to a provider or adviser, and what a good answer sounds like.
Corrections
If a figure here is out of date — a city has reset its contribution base, a minimum wage has moved, a provider’s structure has changed — tell us. We would rather correct a page than leave it stale.
